Trans-Spinal Stimulation and Motor activity after Spinal Cord Injury

PUA’s Faculty of Physical Therapy hosted Prof. Ashraf Georgi, Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Research Department at Holmes McGuire Medical Center and the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Virginia Commonwealth University, USA. He delivered a lecture titled ” Trans-Spinal Stimulation and Motor activity after Spinal Cord Injury”.

The event was attended by faculty members, teaching assistants, and numerous Physical Therapy students. Prof. Georgi provided valuable insights into spinal cord injuries and the severity of such conditions, emphasizing the role of spinal stimulation in enhancing motor activity following spinal cord surgeries. He also highlighted the importance of physical therapy in the rehabilitation process, detailing how therapeutic interventions can significantly improve patient outcomes.

At the conclusion of the lecture, Dr. Mohamed Etman, PUA’s Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and the Dean of the Faculty, expressed their gratitude to Prof. Georgi for his valuable contribution. They also honored him with a token of appreciation for his inspiring lecture, which left a lasting impact on the attendees.
