Tourism Awareness Campaign
In an effort to promote tourism awareness, PUA’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, in collaboration with the Regional Tourism Promotion Authority, launched a comprehensive tourism awareness campaign targeting various educational levels. The campaign aimed to highlight the importance of tourism and equip students with the skills to become ambassadors for Egyptian tourism. Over the course of three days, a series of educational seminars were held across several educational departments in Alexandria, in coordination with the Education Directorate, led by Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid, Director of the Directorate.
The campaign featured awareness seminars and lectures delivered by esteemed professors from the Faculty, alongside public relations officials from the Authority. The events were hosted at Mohamed Zahran Official Secondary School, Victoria College, and Ras El Tin Secondary School for Boys.
The seminars covered a range of topics, including:
– The history of Alexandria’s most significant tourist and archaeological landmarks.
– The ethics of dealing with tourists and the importance of adopting civilized behaviors.
– Strategies for preserving archaeological heritage.
Additionally, a tourism film produced by the Authority was screened, showcasing the city’s most prominent landmarks. This initiative represents a significant step toward fostering a generation that values tourism, interacts with tourists in a civilized manner, and actively contributes to promoting Alexandria as the Bride of the Mediterranean.
