Dr. Tamer Elsawy is an assistant professor at the College of Tourism and Hotel Management at Pharos University in Alexandria. He has obtained a Master’s and a PhD in tourism planning and development from the University of Alexandria, Egypt. Besides his academic experience of about ten years, he has also served earlier as an Assistant Manager for eight years at F.S Hotels in Egypt and Azerbaijan, which allowed him to gain a wealth of experience in hospitality and skills in dealing with different cultures.
He is currently the head of various committees at his college, including academic advising, international relations, and marketing. Besides, he is the editor-in-chief of the Pharos International Journal of Tourism and Hospitality (PIJTH), the head of the exam control committee for the senior level, a member of the international ranking committee at Pharos University, a member of the measurement and assessment center at Pharos University, and a trainer at the Education Development Center (EDC). Tamer is a certified virtual exchange instructor from the EU and a certified professional digital marketer from Udacity. Furthermore,
He is a member of the Elsevier Advisory Panel, the European Training Foundation (ETF), and the African Students and Alumni Forum: European Union (ASAF).
As an IR coordinator, he drafts memoranda of understanding with other entities and higher education institutions and submits national and international-funded project proposals. He has also collaborated with academics within the university and in other countries such as Finland, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, and Turkey to build and strengthen relationships and gain successful grants through research and enterprise activities.

Passent Chahine is an assistant professor at Pharos University’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Pharos University in Alexandria. I have more than 7 years of teaching experience and am an eager and motivated researcher. I am enthusiastic and passionate about preparing and delivering lectures, providing academic content, structure, and sequence, developing curricula and course materials, and collaborating with international academic partners. I am deeply concerned about the new trends in cultural heritage management and archeological and historical sites. I have a strong commitment to professional growth by actively participating in conferences, workshops, and seminars. Moreover, stay abreast of the latest research and pedagogical techniques, integrating them into teaching practices to enhance student learning outcomes. As the International Relations Coordinator of the Faculty, I played a vital role in fostering a global perspective. I have been instrumental in establishing partnerships with renowned international institutions, facilitating student exchanges, and organizing conferences and workshops on global issues. I also assumed the role of digital learning coordinator within the faculty. Recognizing the transformative potential of online education and spearheading the integration of digital technologies into the curriculum, as well as spreading awareness among students about navigating the digital learning platforms, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing guidance on using online tools and resources effectively. I have a Ph.D. in Home Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Alexandria, June 1988. She participated in the Research and Training Program in Human Nutrition at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, from September 1991 until March 1992, during which I engaged in several important activities in the department of nutrition and food systems. She was visiting a lecture at the U.C.L.A., University of Los Angeles, Dept. of Public Health. She was nominated to work from October 2002 until June 2004 as an associate professor at the University of Abha, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Department . of Nutrition. Dr. Nassar currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management at Pharos University in Alexandria. He has an extensive academic background, having worked as a Professor of Hotel Management & Marketing at the College of Tourism and Hotels, Alexandria University. He also spent over a decade as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing at the College of Business Administration, Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST)in Kuwait. Dr. Nassar earned his Ph.D. from Cardiff School of Management, Cardiff Metropolitan University in Wales, UK, in 2003. His teaching career began in 1991 after he completed a BSc in Hotel and Tourism Management at Alexandria University. In 1996, he obtained his MSc from Alexandria University, where he continues to serve as a Professor of Hotel Marketing. He is also certified as a Tourism Destination Manager and Marketer from George Washington University, USA, in1997.
