As part of its commitment to fostering artistic and cultural awareness, PUA’s Faculty of Languages and Translation held a seminar titled “Theatrical Storytelling.” The event featured Mrs. Zeinab Kamal, who provided an in-depth exploration of this distinctive theatrical art form.

Theatrical storytelling is a performance technique that relies on oral narration, blending elements of storytelling with acting. It is characterized by minimalistic direction, focusing primarily on the actor’s ability to use voice, movement, and facial expressions to bring characters and situations to life. One of its key features is direct interaction with the audience, creating a dynamic and immersive experience that breaks traditional barriers between performers and spectators.

This technique is widely used to present folk tales and tackle contemporary issues through dramatic or comedic narratives, making it an effective tool for conveying cultural and social messages in a creative and engaging manner.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who expressed their admiration for the insights shared. Many highlighted their appreciation for this unique theatrical art, which seamlessly combines entertainment and education, enriching both performers and audiences alike.
