As part of a series of events aimed at utilizing art as a tool for environmental conservation and creatively repurposing materials, PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy held an art workshop titled “The Art of Sculpture Using Recycled Materials.” This initiative, held under the umbrella of the “Green Pharos” campaign, aimed to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable development by inspiring participants to transform recycled materials into innovative artistic creations. The workshop encouraged the adoption of eco-friendly practices, contributing to waste reduction and fostering a culture of reuse.

Supervised by Dr. Hossam El-Din Yousry, Rapporteur of the Faculty’s Community Service and Environmental Affairs Committee, the workshop was organized in collaboration with PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design. A distinguished group of faculty members and teaching assistants from the Faculty of Arts and Design led the session, providing hands-on training in techniques for converting recycled materials, such as paper and cardboard, into functional and aesthetically appealing artworks.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members and teaching assistants of the Faculty of Pharmacy, who engaged actively and enjoyed applying the learned techniques to create their own sculptures. Beyond developing practical skills, the event played a crucial role in enhancing participants’ awareness of environmental conservation and encouraging them to integrate sustainable practices into their daily lives.
