PUA’s Pharmacy Celebrates Earth Day

PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing at Pharos University marked World Earth Day with a special sustainability event held in front of the faculty building, featuring active participation from students.
The event spotlighted waste recycling as a practical pollution solution, where students transformed discarded materials into useful products through cardboard upcycling into durable tableware and stationery, Plastic repurposing for small plant containers, and paper waste conversion into decorative art pieces.
Attendees praised the initiative for instilling environmental awareness among future healthcare professionals. One participating student noted: “This experience showed us how to integrate ecological solutions into pharmaceutical practice.”
This event is part of PUA’s “Green Pharos” campaign aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, reinforcing academic institutions’ role in fostering environmentally-conscious generations.
