PUA Hosts Master’s Thesis Defense on Biodiesel Stability Enhancement
The Petrochemical Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering hosted a master’s thesis defense in Engineering Sciences. The thesis, titled “Evaluation of the Performance of Natural Antioxidants in Enhancing Biodiesel Storage Stability”, was presented by Engineer Dina Ihab Khairy. The research focused on evaluating the role of natural antioxidants in improving the stability of biodiesel during storage, a critical topic given the global shift toward sustainable and eco-friendly fuel alternatives.

The defense was attended by Prof. Hamdy Zeidan, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Ihsan Nasef, Head of the Petrochemical Engineering Department, and several faculty members and teaching assistants. Notably, the event marked a historic moment for the department with the presence of a distinguished Swedish delegation, including Prof. Henrik Kusar and Prof. Mikale Hendkvist, who praised the high scientific quality of the thesis and the candidate’s outstanding performance during the defense.
