Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Environmental Development and Community Service Affairs welcomed renowned film critic and media expert Dr. Emad Yousry in a special meeting to finalize preparations for the upcoming “Media Egypt” competition. The initiative aims to discover and nurture student talents in media and creative arts fields.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Nabil Rashwan, Executive Director of the University’s Center for Innovators and Talents Care, and Prof. Dr. Zeinab Demerdash, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design. Discussions focused on the competition’s main themes and implementation mechanisms, particularly its role in honing students’ skills in visual media production and creative content development.
Dr. Etman emphasized the importance of collaborating with media professionals, stating: “Hosting an esteemed figure like Dr. Yousry reflects our commitment to organizing a competition that upholds professional standards while creating real opportunities for our talented students.”
Dr. Yousry expressed his admiration for Pharos University’s efforts to support young creatives, noting that “this initiative represents an ideal platform to discover and develop promising media talents.” He confirmed his full readiness to participate in evaluating submissions and providing technical guidance to participants.
The “Media Egypt” competition is part of the university’s annual series of events supporting student creativity, featuring categories including short films, news reports, and digital media content. Full competition details and participation requirements will be announced in the coming days.
