The Petrochemical Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering recently hosted the defense of a Master’s thesis proposed by Eng. Mohamed Khater Hassan Abdel Aati, titled “Production of Biojet Fuel using Hydrodynamic Cavitation Reactor.” The examination committee comprised esteemed professors, namely Dr. Ahmed Amin Abdel Azim Zaatout, Professor of Chemical Engineering at AU’s Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Abbas Anwar Ezzat, Professor and Head of the Petrochemical Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Ahmed Hassan El Shazly, Professor of the Chemistry and Petrochemical Engineering Department at the Egyptian-Japanese University for Science and Technology (E-JUST), and Dr. Nour Shafik Imam El Gendy, Professor of Petroleum Biotechnology and Environment at the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI).
Following a comprehensive discussion of the thesis, the examiners lauded the scholarly rigor evident in its preparation, formally approved the thesis, and conferred the Master’s degree upon the scholar. In response, Mr. Mohamed Khater expressed his gratitude to the thesis supervisors, noting his prior patent application for the “Design and Implementation of a Hydrodynamic Reactor for Biofuel Production” in 2022, bearing registration number 2022030276. He also underscored the pivotal role played by the Department, particularly during the thesis’s practical phase, whether within the Faculty’s laboratories or workshops, or through collaborative efforts with external entities such as EPRI.
