As part of PUA’s student activities programs, the Faculty of Arts and Design organized a workshop entitled “Optical Illusions Using the Quilling Paper Art.” The workshop aimed to teach participants how to manipulate quilling paper to create artistic optical illusions. The instructor demonstrated techniques for shaping and arranging paper strips into aesthetically pleasing designs that evoke artistic appreciation.

The workshop also highlighted the integration of scientific development with art by encouraging research and innovation in using paper materials. Techniques such as coiling, veneer, and plywood were employed, alongside the gluing of veneer to produce designs inspired by optical illusions—a concept rooted in one of the modern art schools. Participants explored creating zebra formations to embody the living aspect of optical illusions. The workshop aimed to showcase the potential of optical illusions in producing innovative artistic artifacts.
