International Zero Waste Day

In celebration of the International Zero Waste Day, PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences organized a creative reuse and recycling competition, as part of the second edition of the “Green Pharos” environmental campaign. This initiative, aimed at raising environmental awareness among students and promoting sustainable practices on campus, garnered significant participation. Students presented a range of innovative projects, transforming waste into eco-friendly products. From artistic creations to practical uses of recycled materials, the submissions reflected a growing student consciousness of environmental sustainability.
The competition sought to instill a culture of “zero waste” and encouraged creativity, all while promoting environmental responsibility in line with PUA’s vision of supporting sustainable development goals and environmental conservation. The event concluded with an awards ceremony, where participants and winners were recognized amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm and positivity. Looking ahead, “Green Pharos” will continue its efforts, encouraging even more environmental initiatives within the university and beyond.
