Impact of Cultural Identity on Visual Identity in Graphic Design
PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design recently hosted a seminar titled “The Impact of Cultural Identity on Visual Identity in Graphic Design.” The event, led by Dr. Amira Salah from the Graphics Department, aimed to underscore the significance of cultural identity as the foundation for impactful graphic design and to explore innovative ways of incorporating cultural elements that retain authenticity while embracing modern trends.
During the seminar, Dr. Salah examined how designers integrate cultural symbols and patterns into their work to enhance visual identity. She emphasized that graphic design plays a crucial role in promoting cultural awareness and conveying heritage values through creative visual communication. The session featured practical examples of graphic designs that successfully draw on cultural identity, illustrating their powerful impact on effective visual messaging.
This seminar is part of the faculty’s broader initiative to deepen cultural and artistic awareness among students and to inspire them to blend heritage with contemporary design. Through such efforts, Pharos University continues to prepare distinguished designers capable of contributing to the enhancement of cultural identity through graphic design.
