As part of the Student Activities Department’s initiatives, PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design organized a workshop titled “From Wood to Furniture”. The workshop explored the evolution of techniques and designs in interior design, with an emphasis on wood as a foundational material in furniture manufacturing across different eras. It highlighted traditional craftsmanship techniques, such as carving and hand shaping, and their progression towards modern innovations like computer-operated machinery and 3D printing.

Additionally, the workshop provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the industry’s historical and contemporary significance, showcasing its pivotal role in shaping modern design practices. This enriching session emphasized the blend of heritage and technology in the furniture industry, inspiring creativity and innovation among attendees.
