PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication launched the summer field training activities for third-year students. This training targeted more than 130 students in throughout the Faculty’s various disciplines (Journalism, Public Relations, Radio and Television). The activities were attended by 4 key figures in the first week, including experts and media professionals. They aimed to develop students’ professional capabilities, and qualifying graduates to work and compete in the media market. This can be achieved through training workshops presented by the guests to the Faculty students.

 

Further, Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abu El-Ela, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, said that these activities aim to make a realistic assessment of practical training in the Faculty, hence developing and upgrading it. Moreover, he indicated that numerous distinguished media experts participate in the training process. Additionally, Dr. Howaida Mostafa, Dean, discussed aspects of practical training in the Faculty’s various disciplines, explaining that it includes news editing, Arabic language grammar, and various radio arts such as dialogue, radio broadcasts, and various TV program genres, such as the magazines, radio debates, and podcasts.

 

Both Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abu Ela, and Prof. Dr. Howaida Mostafa, also took an inspection tour to ensure the conduct of the field training activities for the third-year students. During this tour, the Dean ensured smooth conduct of the field training activities in the Faculty’s various departments, as well as students’ attendance as scheduled. She also reiterated that students need to interact with the trainers to get the most benefit from their practical experiences, and to increase their ability to modern and creative. Additionally, she requested to remove any obstacles that might adversely affect the smooth progress of the training.
