Short Biography

Abdulfatah Farawila, PhD, is an instructor at the Faculty of Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence at Pharos University in Alexandria since December 2020. I also worked at the College of Computer Science & Engineering, Taibah University from 2003 to 2020, and from 1997 to 2000 at King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. I received my PhD at 2011 from the College of Computers and Information; Helwan University. In 1993, I received my MSc from Computer Systems and Automatic Control department, College of Engineering, Alexandria University, and in 1982, Bachelor of Engineering from Computer Systems and Automatic Control department, College of Engineering, Alexandria University. In addition to my academic experience, I worked as a technical Engineer in different industrial segments such as WANG Computers, and Lectra Systems Co. as a mainframe hardware engineer for about 13 years, and also I was the IT manager at Alexandria Carbon Black for 2 years, and a director of the IT center that belongs to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology at Alexandria Chamber of Commerce for 2 years. Also, as a self-employer, I developed some commercial information systems.

Previously, I was an instructor at The High Institute for Tourism, Hotels & Computer, Ministry of High Education from 2017 to 2021. From 1998 to 2017, I worked at the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, Alexandria University. I received my PhD at 2017 from Alexandria University in digital image processing. I received my MSc from, Alexandria University in 2003. In 1992, I received a Bachelor of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Alexandria University.

 

Throughout my work at the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, I taught many courses concerning digital image processing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including basics of GIS, GIS in environmental applications, fundamentals of remote sensing, remote sensing techniques and applications, and satellite image processing. Ibrahim A. I received my Ph.D. in 2021 from the Department of Information Technology Graduate Institute and Research, Alexandria University. I received my MSc in 2018 from the Department of Information Technology Graduate Institute and Research, Alexandria University, and in 2013, I Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and Computers from, the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University, and in 1997, I Bachelor of Commerce Department of Information Systems. With 25 years of experience; I worked as director of information systems in many service and industrial companies such as Almotaheda Contracting and Road Paving Company, Information systems consultant at Wasla International Company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

I obtained my PhD degree in Computer Science from the Faculty of Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Cairo University in 2012. MSc degree in Computer Science from faculty of Graduate studies for statistical research, Cairo University In 2002, I worked as a lecturer in the General Department of Educational Computer at the General Office of the Ministry of Education in Cairo. I taught computer teachers working in government schools and I participated as a co-authored several computer educational books. After that, I worked for 15 years as a teacher at the College of Computing and Information Technology at King Khalid University and the University of Bisha in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and I was assigned to head the Department of Computer Science at the college for a period of 4 years. I also supervised and contributed to the development of the college’s new computer science department plan.
