Wellbeing Activities
In academic year 2023/2024, and in compliance with the Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3): Good Health and Wellbeing
- In December 2023, PUA’s Faculty of Physical Therapy paid a visit to True Academy, which is a NGO for training and skill development for children with special needs. The visiting delegation, which included faculty members and Faculty students, examined the children diagnosed their medical conditions, giving advice and instructions to best handle them.

- In December 2023, PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology and Faculty of Financial and Administrative Sciences paid a visit to Bilal bin Rabah Orphanage. The two faculties provided a health awareness seminar to the children and, recorded their various measurements such as height and weight. In addition, they children were given tips on how to provide best care to their teeth. The two Faculties also presented food products, sweets, gifts to the children.
- In November 2023, in coordination with PUA’s Community Service Center, the Faculty of Dentistry organized a medical convoy to Al-Mouwasa Nursing Home, with the participation of the Faculties of Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Financial and Administrative Sciences, and Arts and Design. During the convoy’s activities, a group of PUA’s students, faculty members, and intern students from the Faculties of Dentistry, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy, conducted a health awareness campaign for the elderly. They also referred some cases to PUA’s outpatient clinics, and gave them advice and guidance on how to maintain their health.
- In November 2023, PUA’s Faculty of Physical Therapy organized a medical convoy to the Ras El-Tin Charitable Society in Bahri District, with the participation of the Faculties of Dentistry and Arts and Design. During the convoy, the delegation, which consists of faculty members, students of the Faculty of Physical Therapy, and intern students from the Faculty of Dentistry examined the Society’s elderly and children. They [delegation] also provided them with health awareness, advice and guidance on how to maintain their health, and even referred some cases to PUA’s outpatient clinics.
Poverty Eradication Activities
In compliance with the Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG 1): Poverty Eradication
- In November 2023, PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology Service and Environmental Development Committee organized the third charity fair (Garage Sale). The fair provided basic food commodities, used and new clothes free of charge to the Faculty’s workers. Through similar events, the Faculty aims to encourage students, faculty members, and teaching assistants to continuously interact with charitable markets and donation campaigns.
- In December 2023, PUA’s Faculty of Engineering organized a visit to the Nile of Hope Hospital, which specializes in surgeries for children with congenital deformities for free. Further, the Faculty students donated a money sum to the Hospital’s administration as a gesture of participation in charitable works, donation campaigns, and community service activities.
Zero Hunger Activities
In compliance with the Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2): Zero Hunger
- In cooperation with the Faculty of Dentistry, PUA’s Faculty of Financial and Administrative Sciences paid a visit in December 2023, the Naba’a Al-Hob Charitable Society for Cancer Children. During this visit, both Faculties provided the Society with short-term relief aids, in-kind aids, medicines, and food supplies as a gift from PUA to the Society. In addition, they set an example for our students to follow as a leading generation of volunteers capable of changing society and pushing it forward with the skills they have acquired.

- PUA’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology pays great attention to community service and environmental development activities. In this context, the Faculty’s Community Service Committee organized a visit in December 2023, to Bolkley Blind Society. During the visit, the visiting students provided moral and psychological support to the Society’s residents, put smiles on their faces, and provided them with some meals as a gesture of social participation.

Collaboration and Partnerships
In compliance with the Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17): Partnerships for the Goals
- In November 2023, PUA signed a cooperation protocol with the Nile of Hope Hospital, which specializes in surgeries for children with congenital differences for free. The two parties agreed to achieve joint cooperation and mutual benefit. They also agree to allow PUA’s students to study in the hospital departments under the supervision of specialized doctors. This would provide allow the students to link their theoretical studies with on-the-job experiences. In addition, PUA engages in charitable activities, whether by raising donations or providing financial assistance to the Hospital administration, or by encouraging students to participate in such activities.
