Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) continues to prioritize community engagement and connect its students to national initiatives. In this regard, a delegation of 25 students from the Faculty of Legal Studies and International Relations, supervised by Dr. Safwat Saeed from the Criminal Law Department, participated in the “Comprehensive Legal Awareness” event organized by the East Alexandria Court. The event saw the presence of key political, religious, and legal figures, including representatives from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, faculty members, judicial authorities, and youth representatives, as part of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Building the Human Being.”
The primary goal of the event was to enhance legal awareness among citizens, explaining legal concepts relevant to individuals while highlighting the Ministry of Justice’s role in reinforcing the values of justice and improving the legislative framework for the benefit of society. The seminar also emphasized the principle of the rule of law as a cornerstone for peaceful coexistence, equality among citizens, and fostering a stable environment conducive to investment and development. Furthermore, it stressed the necessity of having an informed and legally educated society to achieve sustainable development goals.
Additionally, the seminar addressed the dangers of addiction and its adverse effects on individuals, families, and society. It highlighted the significance of the “New Beginning” initiative in combating addiction, raising awareness of its perils, and exploring recovery pathways. The event fostered an open dialogue, allowing attendees to engage with the speakers and ask questions, creating a positive and interactive exchange between PUA students and the participants.
