The Architectural Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering recently held its Scientific Day activities under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abdel Maqsoud, the Department Head. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Naiem Anwar, Vice Dean; Prof. Dr. Albania Nissan, the cooperation coordinator with the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden (KTH); faculty members; teaching assistants; students from various levels; and representatives from Alex Group for Architecture and Planning.
The day commenced with Prof. Dr. Ramadan welcoming the attendees and delivering an opening speech, highlighting the department’s significant achievements during the 2023-2024 academic year. He also outlined the future development plans for the program, the educational process, and the graduate studies plan. Following this, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mona Naguib and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Al-Fakharani presented on the 12th scientific program held in the Netherlands in coordination with the Faculty of Architecture at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft).
Representatives from the Alex Group office then delivered a lecture titled “Preserving the Downtown Area: Al Naby Daniel Street.” They discussed the condition of the street before development, the various stages of development, and the completed work to date.
During the day’s activities, attendees also engaged with students’ ideas and feedback on developing the academic program and addressing the challenges they faced during the academic year. The discussions aimed to address these issues in preparation for future improvements.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the department’s students, postgraduate students, graduates, faculty members, and teaching assistants. Top-performing students were honored with certificates of distinction and department booklets to encourage further academic excellence.
