In alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and its focus on youth empowerment, Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) facilitated a strategic meeting to advance the “Media Summit Egypt” competition, a national initiative fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among university students. The session was led by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, who welcomed Dr. Emad Youssef, renowned film critic, media expert, and director of the competition.
The discussion centered on finalizing plans for the competition, which aims to spotlight creative student projects in short films and digital media, while promoting awareness of innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. Dr. Youssef outlined the criteria: submissions must demonstrate originality and align with themes of entrepreneurship or technological advancement. All university students nationwide are eligible to participate.
Winning entries will receive cash prizes and gain visibility through social media platforms managed by the Innovators Support Fund. Additionally, selected works will be showcased in cinema screenings across Egypt, amplifying their reach and impact.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Zeinab Demerdash, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, and Dr. Nabil Rashwan, Executive Director of PUA’s Innovators Center. Both emphasized the competition’s role in nurturing young talent and driving Egypt’s innovation ecosystem forward.
This initiative underscores Pharos University’s commitment to bridging academia with real-world challenges, equipping students with the tools to lead in a rapidly evolving digital and entrepreneurial landscape.
