A Visit to the Historical Fouad Street

As part of the EA007 Sketching course, PUA’s Architectural Engineering Department organized a visit for third-year students to Fouad Street, one of Alexandria’s most historic and architecturally significant locations. The visit aimed to immerse students in the artistic and historical essence of the area’s architectural landmarks, encouraging them to observe and sketch intricate architectural details.

Course lecturer, Dr. Taghreed Ahmed, along with teaching assistants Eng. Aya Adel, Eng. Esraa Al Dallal, and Eng. Heba Mohamed, supervised the visit. This hands-on experience allowed students to enhance their artistic and aesthetic appreciation while developing their freehand drawing skills through direct interaction with real-life structures.

Such visits not only foster creativity and observational skills but also instill in students a profound respect for heritage architecture, emphasizing its role in shaping their future contributions to the field of architecture.
