The Petrochemical Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering visited El Sewedy Group in the 10th of Ramadan District, featuring students from the second to the fifth years. The visit included several of the group’s leading factories, such as the Electrical Cables Factory, where students explored the latest technologies in cable production, the PVC Pipes Factory, one of the largest in Egypt, and the Electrical Light Posts Factory, the first local factory to manufacture lighting posts and fiberglass connection supplies.
The visit provided students with valuable exposure to cutting-edge technologies used in these vital industries, bridging their academic studies with real-world industrial applications. Additionally, the trip featured a lecture by Dr. Reham Mohamedin, Director of the Group’s Research and Development Department and a supervisor of one of the department’s graduation projects. Dr. Reham discussed key innovations and challenges in the industry, which sparked enthusiastic interaction from students who asked insightful questions, reflecting their knowledge and awareness.
At the conclusion of the visit, students and faculty members took commemorative photos, celebrating the educational experience. The department promised to organize more such visits to enhance students’ connections with the industry and further enrich their academic and practical knowledge, ultimately preparing them for the labor market.
