To enhance the artistic skills of its students, PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design held a specialized workshop titled “Manual Techniques in Relief Printing Using Linoleum Blocks.”

The workshop attracted numerous students eager to gain hands-on experience in the foundations and techniques of relief printing. Participants went through several stages of the process, starting with designing drawings and transferring them onto linoleum boards, followed by engraving using specialized tools. The workshop also focused on manual printing techniques, where students experimented with ink application and roller techniques on both paper and fabric. Special attention was given to achieving color contrasts and visual effects by controlling the pressure and amount of ink used.

The event witnessed high engagement from students, who actively implemented their own artistic projects under the supervision of Ms. Soha Reda, a teaching assistant in the Graphic Design Department. Her practical guidance enriched the participants’ experience, helping them refine their skills in hand printing techniques and gain deeper insights into artistic expression through relief printing.
