PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the International Relations Department, organized a week-long series of specialized scientific lectures aimed at enhancing the Pharm D and Pharm D Clinical programs by introducing students to global expertise from the Free University of Berlin, Germany (FU). The event featured prominent professors who delivered lectures on various advanced topics in pharmacy. Dr. Ahmed Hassan, Professor of Pharmacology at FU, presented lectures on drug therapy for kidney patients titled Pharmacotherapeutics for Special Populations” and discussed diuretics in detail. In addition, Dr. Fabian Schumacher, Head of the Pharmaceutical Analysis Department, gave a lecture on Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (LC-MS), focusing on advanced analytical techniques. Dr. Kloft, Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, conducted a session on the compartment models and supervised laboratory sessions for Clinical Pharmacy Department courses, offering hands-on learning experiences. Moreover, Prof. Burkhard Kleuser, Head of the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department, delivered two lectures on Pharmacodynamics and Diabetes, emphasizing the latest advancements in these critical areas.
These lectures enriched the educational process with practical experiments and specialized topics, promoting scientific discussions that fostered critical and applied thinking skills among students. The initiative received remarkable engagement from the students, underscoring its success in broadening their scientific knowledge and enhancing their academic and professional competencies. This collaboration highlights the faculty’s commitment to providing a global perspective in pharmaceutical education and preparing students to excel in an evolving field.
