The Décor Department at PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design emphasizes the integration of academic learning with practical field experience. To support this approach, the department organized a field visit to the Alexandria National Museum for both sophomore and junior students enrolled in the “Building Construction” course. The visit aimed to enrich students’ understanding of architectural structures by exposing them to the museum’s construction system and architectural details.

During the visit, students also explored the museum’s floors, analyzing design elements and gaining hands-on experience in identifying building levels and taking measurements. Further, they employed various measurement techniques, including the use of an artificial intelligence application, to obtain precise dimensions. Ultimately, this experience underscored the importance of understanding historical architectural features and provided students with practical skills relevant to their academic studies and future careers in decoration and design.
