In line with the agreement between PUA’s Architectural Engineering Department and Seif Real Estate Investment Company, the Department organized a field visit for second semester students enrolled in the “Building Construction 4” course to the Sawary project in Alexandria. The visit, supervised by a group of faculty members and teaching assistants, aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The students were welcomed by Eng. Ahmed El-Sayed, a distinguished alumnus of the department, who provided a comprehensive overview of the construction techniques employed at the site. Key topics covered included false ceilings, Gypsum Boards, Finishing Work Measurements, GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) Facades.
The visit allowed students to witness firsthand the practical implementation of concepts they study in the classroom, providing them with a deeper understanding of real-world construction practices. Eng. Ahmed also shared insights into the challenges faced during real estate project execution and strategies to overcome them, offering students a realistic perspective on the demands of the labor market.
This initiative is part of PUA’s broader strategy to strengthen partnerships with the industrial sector and equip students with applied skills that align with contemporary industry needs. The collaboration with Seif Real Estate Investment Company not only exposes students to the latest advancements in construction but also highlights the role of alumni in mentoring the next generation of architects and engineers.
