A Field Visit to Alex West and Sidra Resort

In an effort to enhance the integration between theoretical education and practical application, PUA’s Architectural Engineering Department o organized a field visit to the Alex West Residential Complex and Sidra Resort on the North Coast for second-year students (3rd Semester). This visit came within EAG211-Basic Design Level (1) course and was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Reham Nadi Faragallah, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Fakharany, T. A. Reham Sherif, and T. A. Mariam Khaled.
The visit began with a tour of the Alex West residential complex, where students explored various residential models, including separate and connected units. They studied the functions of different spaces, their dimensions, and the mechanisms for connecting them. Following this, the students visited Sidra Resort, where they gained insights into the design principles of the site and its key elements that serve the residential units. This hands-on experience provided students with valuable knowledge to apply practically in their academic projects.
