As part of enhancing students’ practical experience and connecting them to Egypt’s historical and touristic landmarks, the Tourism Department at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Pharos University in Alexandria, organized a field trip to Cairo. This visit was part of the educational activities for the Fall 2024-2025 semester.

The trip commenced with a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, one of the world’s most prominent cultural landmarks, and the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization. Students enjoyed a tour among the unique artifacts that narrate the stories of Egypt’s ancient civilization. They also explored the latest techniques used in preservation and restoration, deepening their understanding of the importance of heritage conservation.

The group then moved on to Baron Empain Palace, a historical landmark that combines the charm of legends with the magnificence of Indian architectural style. Students marveled at the intricate details of the palace and learned about its fascinating stories that reflect the cultural intersections in Egypt during the early 20th century.

This trip reflects the Faculty’s vision to provide an exceptional educational experience that blends knowledge with creativity, equipping students for a promising future in the field of tourism.
