Photography is an art that plays a significant role in highlighting the beauty around us in a distinctive manner. It also documents the distinctive qualities of the Egyptian governorates, and deliver meaningful messages through showing the best scenes of our country. Given such fact, interest has been growing in this art that compiles talent, creativity and different kinds of photography techniques. Professional and amateur photographers had to be encouraged to capture creative and unusual photos.
To this end, the Department of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Engineering organized a photography competition to pick a group of remarkable shots. The Department aims to support photographers with exceptional talents, give them experience and sharpen their skills. It also provides the photography fanatics within the Faculty with a platform to show their best shots and honor their works.
- 8 students participated in the competition; each presented 10 of their best shots captured in the Egyptian governorates. On Tuesday Nov 09, 2021, the best shots were sorted by the judges. The judges included Prof. Dr. Alaa Khalil, Acting Head of the Department of Basic Sciences, Dr. Heidi Shehata, Teacher in the Faculty of Engineering, and members from the Department’s Student Activity Office. The top three places were given to the following students:
- First Place: Khalid Ahmed Adlan
- Second Place: Hussein Ahmed Selim
- Third Place: Ahmed Alaa Al-Din Fahmy
the winners were awarded distinctive certificates of recognition, while the other participants received certificates of participation.
