PUA’s exerts tremendous efforts to strengthen the connection between academic knowledge and practical application in the field of petrochemical engineering. Accordingly, the Petrochemical Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering organized a scientific trip for fifth-year students to Midor Oil Refinery. This visit is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to provide students with a comprehensive field experience, exposing them to the latest technologies in the refining industry and the challenges faced by this vital sector.
Midor is one of the leading oil refining companies in both Egypt and the Middle East, renowned for its innovation and quality in refining operations. The company emphasizes environmental sustainability by applying cutting-edge global technologies and continuously developing production processes to meet both local and international market demands.
During the visit, the department’s delegation was received by the General Manager of Technical Quality and the Assistant General Manager of Research Laboratories, who gave an in-depth presentation on the company’s refining operations and underscored the importance of integrating engineering with industry to ensure operational efficiency. The students engaged actively throughout the visit, seizing the opportunity to ask questions about the technical and environmental aspects of oil refining, which significantly enriched their academic knowledge and practical experience.
This activity aligns with the department’s vision of preparing students to be future leaders in the petrochemical field. By linking theoretical education with real-world applications and continuously updating the curriculum in line with industry advancements, the department ensures that its students are well-equipped for the challenges and opportunities in the ever-evolving petrochemical sector.
