Student Union Elections Concluded
The student union elections across all faculties of Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) were successfully concluded, resulting in the election of the members of the University Union Council and the heads of its various committees. These elections were conducted in accordance with the schedule set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and aligned with the directives of the Minister of Higher Education. The process adhered to the timetable approved for all Egyptian universities, both governmental and private, ensuring a structured and transparent electoral process.
As part of its annual tradition, PUA commemorated this occasion by capturing memorial photos featuring the elected student representatives alongside university officials. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, PUA’s President, along with Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Head of the Supreme Committee supervising the elections. Other notable attendees included Prof. Dr. Nourhan Fanaki, Vice President for Education Follow-up and Quality Assurance Affairs; Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Din Ramadan, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Gaber Abu Ali, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies; and Dr. Alaa Khalil, PUA’s Student Activities Coordinator, Dr. Noha Badr, CSED’s Executive Officer, along with faculty-level activity coordinators.
The elections were conducted in a positive and democratic atmosphere, reflecting the enthusiasm of students to participate in student governance and university activities. This active involvement underscores the importance of democratic engagement in shaping student leadership and fostering a spirit of collaboration and responsibility within the university community.
