PUA’s Architectural Engineering Department emphasizes the importance of integrating education with practical and real-world experiences recognizing its vital role in enhancing architecture students’ skills and familiarizing them with prominent designs and activities within the Egyptian market. In this context, fourth-year students (seventh semester) conducted a field visit to the Cairo International Conference Center (CICC) in Nasr City as part of the Architectural Design 5 course. The visit was supervised by Prof. Dr. Ghada Ragheb, course professor along with T. A. Eng. Radina Mohamed.

The visit began with an introductory tour led by the Director of the Public Relations Department and several center engineers. Students explored the layout of the building’s sections and components, gaining insights into the design details of the conference halls, their levels of equipment, and accessibility features. They also examined the construction system and available services. Additionally, the tour covered the exhibition halls, control and organization rooms, and administrative offices, with detailed explanations of the primary movement axes that facilitate efficient entry and exit for both pedestrians and vehicles. Evacuation protocols, including emergency exits and fire escapes, along with mobility mechanisms within CICC’s various sections, were also inspected.

Such field visits provide students with practical and comprehensive insights into architectural design and the execution of large-scale projects, enhancing their ability to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application.
