A Seminar at Alexandria Pharmacists Syndicate

As part of its commitment to societal contributions and support for the Alexandrian community, PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy has established a unique opportunity for young pharmacists to gain professional experience in Germany. This initiative was made possible through a cooperation agreement with the Free University of Berlin, aimed at enhancing international collaboration in pharmaceutical education, scientific research, and community service. Supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the initiative also aligns with the goals of the Pharmacists Syndicate in providing job opportunities for pharmacists interested in working in Germany, a country currently facing a critical shortage in this field.

Accordingly, a seminar was held at the Alexandria Pharmacists Syndicate, led by Dr. Mohamed Ansi, the Syndicate Head, and attended by a large group of pharmacists. Representing PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy was Professor Menatallah Gowayed, Director of the International Relations Department, alongside a German delegation from DAAD. The seminar offered aspiring pharmacists a comprehensive guide on obtaining work recognition for their Bachelor of Pharmacy degrees, visa processes, required German language proficiency level, and essential professional tests. The seminar also introduced the “Pharma Profi Plus Project,” funded by DAAD, which offers free preparatory courses and personalized consultations to guide pharmacists through the certification recognition process.

This initiative underscores the pioneering role of the Faculty of Pharmacy in supporting young pharmacists and preparing them for the international job market, thereby creating genuine employment opportunities and paving the way for a promising professional future for graduates.
