The Tourism Services Unit at PUA’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management organized a workshop entitled “The Art of Marketing via Social Media and Booking via Smart Electronic Applications”, as part of the activities of the Autumn semester 2024-2025. The workshop was prepared and implemented by the responsible team consisting of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Raouf, Acting Head of the Tourism Department, Dr. Tamer Al-Sawy, and T. A. Amal Abu Al-Dhahab.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of using social media and latest applications as effective marketing tools that support the tourism industry, increase interaction with customers, and contribute to the development of tourism services. The workshop opened with a comprehensive presentation on modern online marketing methods, focusing on how to target different categories of customers using multiple platforms. It also discussed the impact of rapid changes in consumer behavior on the tourism sector, as customers have become more inclined to plan and book their trips via smart applications instead of traditional means.

The workshop also addressed the objectives of electronic marketing, such as improving the quality of service provided and attracting more tourists by enhancing the image of tourism companies on the Internet. The workshop also included discussing ways to enhance customer loyalty through effective presence on digital platforms. The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of tourism sector workers keeping up with the latest technologies and deeply understanding them to meet the changing market needs, as these skills have become an essential part of building successful tourism companies capable of competing in a rapidly growing global market.
