Electrical Engineering’s Orientation Day

 

To welcome new students, the Electrical Engineering Department at PUA’s Faculty of Engineering, organized an orientation day under the supervision of the Student Activities Department. The event kicked off with a video introduction about the department, followed by a speech from the Head of the Department, who warmly welcomed the new students and wished them success in their academic journey. He also highlighted the department’s advanced laboratories and encouraged students to actively participate in scientific and student activities to uphold the distinguished reputation of the department’s graduates in the labor market.

In addition, the academic advisor explained the concept of academic advisory and the advisor’s role in helping students navigate academic challenges. Further, the Student Activities Committee Coordinator introduced the cultural, social, and sports activities planned for the 2024-2025 academic year, inviting students to contribute to the plan and participate in these activities.

In alignment with technological advancements and sustainable development, Prof. Dr. Medhat Al-Kilawi from the Mechanical Engineering Department delivered a lecture on electric cars, a joint project between the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering departments. This project aims to design a functional electric car, motivating new students to join the team in implementing the project and competing in local and international competitions.

Additionally, the Anti-Violence Team Coordinator discussed the team’s role in promoting a safe, violence-free educational environment. Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the PUA’s Center for Engineering and Technology Training emphasized the center’s importance in connecting academic learning with the labor market by providing advanced technical training.

The event concluded with commemorative photos of faculty members, teaching assistants, and new students, celebrating the start of their academic journey at the university.
