The Dean of PUA’s Faculty of Dentistry met with the members of the “Alexandria Cultural Salon” to discuss prospects for cooperation between the Faculty and the Salon. The members included various Alexandria’s most distinguished figures specializing in science, culture, politics and art.
During the meeting, the Dean underlined PUA’s and the Faculty’s efforts to implement the directives of H. E. the Egyptian President on implementing a cultural strategy stemming from a safe intellectual, civilizational and cultural awareness. This strategy, however, matches PUA’s vision to enhance cultural awareness, exchange it with cultural thinkers, and transfer it to the promising youth.
Creating awareness has become an inevitable necessity in light of the challenges facing societies, especially when negative phenomena spread affecting youth. These phenomena have been constantly increasing lately with the dominance of social media platforms.
Furthermore, the Dean pointed out that the Cultural Salon is an intellectual and educational platform for exchanging ideas and experiences. It serves several purposes, most important of which are strengthening the values of national belonging, spreading the culture of tolerance and acceptance of others, preserving the Arabic language, and reviving its heritage as an essential cultural component. In addition to discovering and developing skills, and confronting false ideas incompliant with PUA’s traditions, values, and norms. This can be achieved by enhancing awareness in the university community and improving public taste.
