The Norwegian architectural office “Snøhetta” returned to Alexandria to tell the story of the design and construction of the new Bibliotheca Alexandrina. This was done through a celebration called “Bibliotheca Alexandrina: The Revival of a Legend”. The celebration was organized by the Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex Med) of the Academic Research Sector, at the Great Hall of Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Conference Center.

Snøhetta is one of the most successful design and architecture offices in the world. Its offices extend from Oslo, Paris, and Innsbruck, to New York, Hong Kong, Adelaide, and San Francisco.

Alex Med invited Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abdel Maqsoud, academic supervisor of the Architectural Engineering Department, PUA’s Faculty of Engineering, to attend the event, along with faculty members, teaching assistants, and students.

Being keen to participate in cultural seminars and workshops to link the theoretical studies with the practical experience, the Department has dispatched four batches of students, faculty members, teaching assistants to attend the event.
