The Community Service and Environmental Development Committee and Student Activities Committee at the Faculty of Engineering organized an awareness seminar entitled “Small Projects: Present and Future”. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Suzette El Redy, Founder and President of the Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Association, and the Arab Youth Entrepreneurship Forum.
This was under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, PUA’s President, Prof. Dr. Ramadan Abu El-Ela, Vice President for Environmental Affairs and Community Service Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Gaber Abu Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Abbas Anwar Ezzat, Head of Petrochemical Engineering Department.
The seminar tackled wthe definition of small projects, with an explanation of the difference between them and entrepreneurship. In addition, it clarified how to study the market and the surrounding environment before initiating the project, while identifying the opportunities and challenges facing small projects. The lecture also shed light on project financing mechanisms, while giving some examples of successful small projects.
The seminar was held in the presence of Dr. Noha Badr, Executive Director of PUA’s Center for Community Service and Environmental Development. Along with a number of faculty members, teaching assistants, and students who interacted with its content. The seminar also included many questions and interactions to answer students’ inquiries.
At the end of the seminar, the Dean thanked the Prof. Dr. Suzette El Redy for the valuable Seminar, and gifted her a shield and a certificate of appreciation in recognition of her valuable efforts.
